My Dream My Future

"We're getting away from the formal laboratory environment. We're trying to focus engineering around hands-on, projectbased learning... and how to solve problems in a team environment," says Ted Batchman, dean of the college of engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno.

Engineering is a diverse field of study, ranging from building satellites in aerospace programs to designing polymers at the chemical level. But at its core, engineering is about solving problems. Every day, there's a new discovery in science or technology. Engineers answer the question: How do we use those breakthroughs to benefit society? If you have an answer, or would have fun finding one, then engineering is for you.

"There's something unique in engineering: you build something and afterwards you can point to it and say, 'I built that.' You have ownership over that project for the rest of your life," says Howard Dunn, department chair of engineering at the United States Coast Guard Academy.

The basic principles of engineering can be put into use to solve practically any problem. However, once the degree of difficulty increases beyond the basics, the realm of engineering splits into many specialized fields. At today's colleges, there are nine standard concentrations for engineering majors: chemical, mechanical, aerospace, industrial, civil, structural, electrical, computer and biomedical. Most schools allow students to wait until their second or third year to select a major, so you have some time to decide.

This is what I am dreaming for. Engineer the Future!!!!

Be the change that you wish to see in the world". Ghandi.

There is much talk in the spiritual communities about how the world that I see outside of myself is a reflection of the world that is inside me. Part of the journey to peace, love, and happiness, is understanding that I am not always able to recognise my part in the creation of my life.

Our perceptions of the world are in fact what dictate what we see unfold in front of us. So, it follows that if my perception is that the world is a frightening place to be, I will live in fear. I will see events that keep occurring that will justify my fear, because I unconsciously look at the world through filters that seek out what I believe. I need to learn to not be scared. If I am an angry person, I will attract to myself a world where other people, places and things make me angry and will be angry at me. I need to learn to find out why I am angry and process my anger, and as I do so, I will see that the world outside of me becomes less angry. If I am full of love, and believe that the world is a safe and happy place to be, then the environment around me will be full of loving people and events.

We are controlled by a part of our brain that we are not aware of- the unconscious mind. From the ages of 0-4, a young mind is like a sponge and it absorbs everything around it, and the unconscious mind stores the information for future reference. As we continue to go through life, we add meaning to the events, and this is also stored for future reference.

An example of this would be playing in a paddling pool. For one child, a paddling pool is a real treat, fun, and something to run and splash around in. For another child, the paddling pool can be really frightening because the child slipped and hurt itself once, and so now associates paddling pools with pain.

The paddling pool does not change, but our perception of the paddling pool is different, depending on our experiences. The unconscious brain is like a stuck record and is always trying to keep us safe. With the association of pain with a paddling pool, it thinks that all paddling pools cause pain, and so sends the message to the child to stay away. Is this in fact true? Is playing in a paddling pool always dangerous? No. However, the child will probably go through life missing out on fun in other pools, because of the association between pain and paddling pools.

What would have been helpful for the child would have been for a really understanding adult to validate the child's fear. Then explain to the child that although it did happen to them once, paddling pools can be fun. And finally teach the child to play in the pool safely, and thus the association is dispelled. Also, offering an explanation that we do fall over and hurt ourselves from time to time, and that this is just being part of being human, and that it is ok. Of course, this is the ideal, but so often we are not conscious of where our belief systems come from and so are unable to stop them forming.

Our societies are riddled with issues around trust, fear, anger, grief, victim mentality, blame, depression, anxiety, and addictions. The path to recovery from these issues and others is to go within and find out what is actually true as opposed to what we have deduced from the environment that we grew up in. Once you have established what really happened, it is advisable to find a way to safely process your issues.

When we do begin the path to a spiritual way of living, one very important aspect of the growth is to really begin to look at what you actually believe, either consciously or unconsciously. Does what you believe benefit your life, bringing you peace and joy, or does it make you miserable and keep you small?

Most of our belief systems come from other people. These include parental figures, family, friends, school teachers, pupils, religion.....we really do absorb a large proportion of other peoples' opinions in our life time, and they do not always suit who we are or what we want to achieve.

What do you believe and is it true for you? Take a look at the aspirations and expectations of your mother and father figures- are they very similar to your own? What are their opinions about money, religion, success, relationships? Do you have the same opinions, even though you think that you want different things in life?

Begin to unravel what your values are. What you are passionate about? What makes your heart sing? What do you aspire to be? What is your authentic truth? This will be different for everyone. There really only is one you on the planet and you have been given gifts and talents to help you to be the best you that you can be. You can discover that other people may not necessarily value what you hold dear to the same degree as you do. You begin to learn that you do not need other peoples' approval because you are living in integrity with your own truth.

Spiritual growth is a journey into self-discovery and self- acceptance. Each person's journey takes as long as it takes. There are many different approaches to spiritual growth, and all of them are valid. This journey is an individual one that takes time and courage. We learn to love and respect ourselves and to teach others how to respect us too. We learn to listen to our intuition and to seek out people who share our commitment to improving ourselves.

In a society that has become addicted to the quick fix, this journey is the exact opposite. There are no short cuts to spiritual growth. The rewards are peace, love, and joy. To reach these goals, we need to search inside and to make friends with each and every part of us, especially the parts that we dislike. Secular society seems to have lost its appeal and the overwhelming evidence is that worldwide, we are seeking to redress the balance, to live in integrity. What is your vision of the world? Would you like it to be filled with peace, love, and joy? The choice is yours, as is the journey.

KANNAWIDAN FESTIVAL

Kannawidan festival???

I’m honest to admit that it was something new for me. That’s why when Ma’am gave an activity about it which is to write an essay. Out of the blue I found myself feel liked hanging. How can I write something about it if I don’t even know what really it is? But that wasn’t bothering me and here is the product of that confusion at first.

ILOCOS SUR ROCKS!

This festival is one of the most awaited event here in Ilocos and even here in Vigan. When the said event has come, everyone was wearing their smiles. All of their negative feelings were vanished. This celebration is not just about over-flowing foods, expensive things and countless number of visitors. It is about how you remember the one who is being praised for your festive and for us to be still united and to keep a good relationship with others.

Next time, I would go and explore more about this Kannawidan Festival.

Fourth Book: Chapter Three

Oh my tags!!!
This grading had been the toughest one for me. Specially in the making of the projects but even though it was worth it.
I’ve learned more on notepad. The more complicated tags but beautifies the page more. Although the tags are easy to memorized, sometimes it was failing. So that you need to check it again. Letter by letter. That’s when you’ll finally see that a single “=” mark was meaning.
The problems I’ve challenged in this grading are the accomplishments of my activities because of my hectic schedule. One of my problems is also the activities itself that I find it hard to understand.
I address this challenges by asking help on my pals and of course time management.
Moving on…. I will start our project now so no more cramming and I will also pay more attention to our teacher to understand the activities better.

Change for the Better

Hey hey hey 2015! 2014 has been a very good year to me even if there’s an ups and downs. Surely it left a great mark on my history on earth. It taught to me many lessons and helped me become a better one. As I say goodbye to the year of the Lord 2014, I am taking my bad ad unpleasant characteristics with it. Discover me as I take the new me on the new year 2015.
I’m just going to give a little bit introduction on who will I be on the year 2015. Of course, I will retain my old look. Simple, I guess, with same hairstyle, same haircolour and eye color of course. There will be no great change on my appearance but the great change will be found on my manners and way of living.
The first I need to focus on changing is the way I handle my finances. I will be trying my best to be as thrifty as can be. I will have my own coinbank so that I will have something to use on my future eventhough it will all be coins, doesn’t matter anyway.
Next will be having a very big focus on my study, not because I am already fourth year high school, but because I am now entering the portals of the tertiary and a very serious study life for me as a preparation for my bright future. I am now going to be as serious as I can and take all my responsibilities as a student wholeheartedly.
The new me will also try her best to be close to God as can be. Serve Him and always devote to Him whatever I am going to do and to get.
The new me will not fail to try her best. To show what she really got inside. It maybe a little creepy but I swear never mess with the new me because the old one was done with your attitude. ;)

HO!HO!O! MERRY CHRISTMAS

Christmas is in the air. Christmas is in the air. Lanterns are now hanged. Christmas trees are now displayed and hanged with different decors. You can already feel the cold breeze and you can already hear the Christmas carols sung by the people outside. You are already window shopping and buying gifts for your special someone. Christmas is indeed in the air.
But we must never forget the true essence of Christmas which is about God. To me the true essence of Christmas is being simple. Giving love and loving God. I say it is simplicity because Christ was born I house of animals only wrapped in a piece f clothing yet He is one of the highest.
We must also give love because God the Father gave to us His only son because of His love to us. Even one song said that we must give love on Christmas day even the man who has everything will be so happy if you could give him love. GOD IS LOVE that’s why let’s just give love. Love. Love.
And we must never forget that above all, our love must be greatest with God. Because He never fails to guide, to love us, to wake us and to bless us every day. Nothing must be compared to the love we had for God than any other things on earth.
There will be no other holidays that is happier than Christmas if we had it all peacefully and happily with a touch of apologizing to those we commit mistakes and giving second chances to those you sinned on us. That’s the spirit of Christmas for me, how about yours?
